I was once a skinny before.

i think just a balanced work out and eating would make you bulk up.

eat eat eat...try eating 5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones

buy some dumbells and find some kind of bench if you wanna workout at home...start with 3 sets of 20 pushups daily (work your way up to it if you cant), and dumbell presses, curls, tricep pulls 3 times a week

but dont worry too much about how you look at a gym...everyone there had to start somewhere

I would recommend the 6-8 pushes, and repeating it 3 times per exercise...
this is what I am doing, and I was very very skinny believe me
