hi rpmolecule, i think you are a little confused.... you see Many people still believe that acne is caused by dirty skin. But The truth is, actually washing alone will not clear up or prevent acne. In retrospect,  Washing does, however, help remove excess surface oils and dead skin cells. Many people use all kinds of products, including alcohol-based cleansers, and scrub vigorously, only to irritate the skin further and worsen their acne. Washing the skin twice a day gently with water and a mild soap is usually all that is required. However, acne is actually caused by a variety of biologic factors that are beyond the control of washing. For that reason, you should use appropriate acne treatments for the acne

consider
- STRESS
- proper diet
- the products that you use (avoid everything that causes oiliness)

yes.. and there's almost no product that can control this. you have to check if the anti-stress tab actually prevents over secretion of cortisol... but i know one that's developed to address cortisol.

cortisol is an important hormone, but when secreted in higher levels, one of the effects is: acne breakouts.

here's more about it: http://stress.about.com/od/stresshealth/a/cortisol.htm

acne is multifactorial that is there are many factors which can cause it
your entry into adolescence ngrereact ang body mo sa new hormones
over production of sebum which gets infected
take anti stress supplements
B complex vitamins have been blamed for acne
but do you know that Niacin a B complex vitamin is also used to treat acne?
even the mineral Zinc which is good for wound healing may also work
and lastly always take your probiotics they have so many wonders inside your body

i have a very oily skin...paghindi ako nagwash ng face even once a day...the following day puro pimples na ako....my theory before was this oily skin is blocking the pores so i need to wash my face several times a day to clear out the oil ...if this oily skin is hormonal then i need to suppress that hormone which is overly activating the oily skin ..is there kind of medicine for this? yun bang parang pang suppress lang sa oiliness?  or talagang wala? nagtataka lang ako kasi yung mga kapatid ko hindi naman sila  ganun kaoily ...ako lang naman so marami akong acne breakouts kesa sa kanila.. i wouldnt say genetic  plays a role here kasi bakit ako lang? palagay nyo?

@rpmolecule:

there are several things you can do:

1. take supplements. especially the one that addresses cortisol levels. try also probiotics
2. apply face mask, that reaches up to the third layer of the skin and sips impurities and extra oil out of your skin.
3. oil control film

thanks luis, paul for the tips.

i do take benzoyl peroxide. prescribe din ng ibang dermatologist ko upon consultation. halos lahat na ata ng medicines/soaps nakuha/natry ko na.... there's clindamycin for skin cleaning , tretinoin A, cetaphil soap, kojic acid soap, mama lotion, mandelic acid, epiultra, bleaching c, bleaching a., sunblock etc.

yung tretinoin tsaka benzoyl peroxide nga lang nakakaitim ng ibang pimples when they become dry so i stopped. i take vitamin C, and glutathione supplements.i thought maybe there's something in my blood that keeping my hormone activated thus producing more oil.

More than i eat balanced diet, fruits, vegetables and INTRA botanical extract supplement

yep i do face mask din and oil control film. para na nga akong babae minsan pag natutulog e tsaka kakagawa ng mga procedures na ito e hehehe...

i also go to steamroom para lumabas yung oil sa buong katawan ko. i think this is effective, inoopen nya yung pores mo at pag papawisan ka... pero di ko naman ginagawa ito madalas.

still my problem is the oily skin condition. i guess i just have to bear with this.. pero hanggang kailan kaya?Huh? lagi nalang blocked ang pores ko dahil sa oily skin. kung hindi lang ako oily hindi na ako sana tinatagyawat at less scars sana ako. hay buhay nga naman

you have a lot of things in place.
can you pin-point the things that work, and discard the rest?

im not confident with what you are putting on your face as regimen. there are lots of them, most of them might be harsh for you.

whats your work?
what time do you sleep at night and how much time do you spend for sleeping?
anong face mask ginagamit mo ngayon?
