Cholesterol is a fatty substance (a lipid) that is an important part of the outer lining (membrane) of cells in the body of animals. Cholesterol is also found in the blood circulation of humans. The cholesterol in a person's blood originates from two major sources; dietary intake and liver production. Dietary cholesterol comes mainly from meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products. Organ meats, such as liver, are especially high in cholesterol content, while foods of plant origin contain no cholesterol. After a meal, cholesterol is absorbed by the intestines into the blood circulation and is then packaged inside a protein coat.

What are LDL and HDL cholesterol?

LDL cholesterol is called "bad" cholesterol, because elevated levels of LDL cholesterol are associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease. LDL lipoprotein deposits cholesterol on the artery walls, causing the formation of a hard, thick substance called cholesterol plaque. Over time, cholesterol plaque causes thickening of the artery walls and narrowing of the arteries, a process called atherosclerosis.

HDL cholesterol is called the "good cholesterol" because HDL cholesterol particles prevent atherosclerosis by extracting cholesterol from the artery walls and disposing of them through the liver. Thus, high levels of LDL cholesterol and low levels of HDL cholesterol (high LDL/HDL ratios) are risk factors for atherosclerosis, while low levels of LDL cholesterol and high level of HDL cholesterol (low LDL/HDL ratios) are desirable.

How can you lower Cholesterol?

Reduce saturated fat, which includes all animal fats as well as hydrogenated coconut and palm kernel oils. There is some evidence that non-hydrogenated pure coconut oil and milk have the ability to regulate cholesterol levels. Try to keep saturated fat within 5% of daily caloric intake.32 Eliminate all hydrogenated fats, and consume no heated fats or processed oils.

Use only unrefined cold- or expeller-pressed oils such as olive oil, flaxseed, primrose, black current seed oils. Cold-pressed oils have never been heated above 110 degrees during processing.

Eat water-soluble dietary fiber – Take in plenty of fiber from fruits, vegetables and grains. Barley, beans, fruits, glucomannan, guar gum, oat bran and brown rice bran are excellent for reducing serum cholesterol.

Eat garlic, hot red pepper (chile) and shiitake mushrooms frequently.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, including leafy greens, orange and yellow fruits and vegetables, and red and purple fruits.

Eat soy (unless you have thyroid disease) and other legumes regularly. It has been found that antinutrients in soy inhibit the production of thyroxine, so those with thyroid dysfunction would be well advised to limit consumption of soy foods.

Drink green tea regularly.

Limit or avoid refined carbohydrates, i.e. alcohol, cakes, candy, carbonated drinks, coffee, gravies, nondairy creamers, pies, processed or refined foods, refined carbohydrates, tea, tobacco or white bread. This is also a particularly good strategy for those with hypoglycemia and Candida albicans.

Get regular exercise.

High fiber diet also helps but be sure to eat this hours after you took your mineral supplements cause they can interfere with the absorption of these nutrients

Hi All!

Do you know someone who's suspected of having high cholesterol level and above 18 years old?

There's a new product from the US that's used to treat high cholesterol levels. A natural supplement which acts like statin drugs but without a side effect in the liver and/or kidney.

Several patients will be screened to undergo this TESTIMONIAL PROGRAM where the qualified individuals will be provided with FREE laboratory tests and treatment for 3 months.

The patient should be willing to undergo:
-Lipid Profile Test
-Liver Function Test
-Interview with a company doctor or representative

* ALL EXPENSES WILL BE SHOULDERED BY THE COMPANY!

* For accessibility, the patient should be within NCR or nearby provinces only (who's willing to visit the company office on a scheduled interval)

* To know more about the program, PM me.

Thank you.

hello rpmolecule! anyone can undergo the screening to be qualified. there's a criteria, and it is the company that can say if your father can be part of the program.

Just PM to me the complete name, address, landline and/or mobile number. i will forward the info to the company. the company will contact your father.

hello!

after the 3 months program, if you find the supplement effective, you have the option to use it as part of your daily diet. of course, you have to pay for it na.

there's no side effects - the company can guarantee, and you have the right to check the credibility first.

what i know is - statin drugs have side effects. if so, what are the other options. - i can say this is the one. but again, find it out yourself, free naman e.
