It's still available funded by the Global Fund and other donors. Dra. Mendoza told me that it is offered FREE until 2010.

I've been working with this clinic as a consultant and volunteer for some time. I guarantee you of the confidentiality of the test and the friendliness of the staff.

@Dying young thanks for this info...

i hope you don't mind me asking... pero can you share how the session is done, i mean for a first timer... kasi kinakabahan ako e just by thinking about the procedure.. how long would the testing be tsaka what ano ano pwedeng mangyari in case na positive ang result? bakit pala yung ibang companies nirerequire nila magpa hiv testing mandatory na ba ang hiv testing pag kukuha ka ng job?

HIV Test is NOT MANDATORY for LOCAL EMPLOYMENT. If you know any company that requires HIV Test, please report them by calling the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Under Republic Act 8504, requiring HIV Test for employment within the country is unconstitutional/illegal.

However, if you're applying for FOREIGN JOB, they may require you for HIV test depending on the policy of the receiving country.
----

About the FREE HIV Test offered at the Manila Health Department, right now they are done with the Rapid Test. They don't offer RAPID test instead they do the usual routine of extracting blood from you and sending the blood sample to the laboratory for HIV Antibody testing.

I believe it takes days or weeks before you get the result. Please call them as there maybe changes that are significant to you. It's 711-6942

Yup, some do require for testing. In Thailand they don't ask for HIV Antibody Test. Thailand is cited as a BEST PRACTICE in terms of HIV and migration for not requiring an HIV Test.
