Tips in choosing health food supplement

1. Check if health  food formulation contains a variety of plant because no single plant contains  complete nutrients

2. Check if  the manufacturer supplies more information and data about the research  on the plant being manufactured, method of farming ,the way plant is being processed as to insure the substances in the plant.

3. Check if  the  ingredient are labeled as whole plant foods and not in the chemical name or isolated form such as vitamins with miiligram, most likely it is wholesome and not synthetic. 

4.Check if health  food formulation is safe for all ages.

5. Check if  health food formulation  contains not stimulant 

6.Check if the  Bureau of Food  and  Drugs  (BFAD) categorized  food supplement as food and not as a drugs.

7.Check if its contains warning such as :
  • Not to be given to pregnant woman
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • For adult’s  use only
  • Not recomended for prolong use
  • Take with full stomach or after meals
Those  labels suggest  that the formulation contains some unhealthy substances such as drugs. A food supplement is something  that even the children can safely take in.

is it true that 'eggplant' doesn't have health benefits?

based from what i heard. eggplants has the most anti-oxidants. but dont take my word for that. you may have your research. :)

mas maraming health benefits pa ang malunggay kesa sa  eggplant..

also tomato and other fruits.

just a thought =)

yes. i think it is not true too.
because there are a lot of 'hybrid' fruits that has a lot of anti-oxidants.

since we are talking about food supplements here then  it good to ask this...if you were to choose between taking vitamin c, vitamin a, stress tabs,centrum, nutriplex, myra-300 e...and among many other multivitamins available in the market...which do you think would you prefer and why?

these are based on ORAC(Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) measurements,we may ask why grapes which are fresh have lower antioxidant capacity, the answer is raisins have more concentrated antioxidants because they are dried
