Minimize sugar intake
Studies result that overconsumption of refined carbohydrate such as sugar- sweetened softdrinks, soda, cake maybe a factor  for stone formation
It also shows that increase sugar intake significantly increased urinary calcium excretion  both to normal healthy individual and to patient with  calcium stone in the kidney. As more  insulin is released in the circulation ,there is associated calcium excretion in the kidney

Eat more vegetables and whole grains
Excessive intake of meat protein and salt and insufficient intake of vegetable fibers, calcium and fluid all lead to  increased urinary crystallization.Unprocessed wheat bran is a good source of dietary fiber that has a significant effect  in preventing a urinary stone formation

Eat less meat and animal product
Patient who develop kidney stones have increased urine calcium  excretion in response to high animal protein diet.Animal protein also result in a more acidic urine environment which promote stone formations.Tofu, beans and other plant protein are better substitutes.

Drink more water
Most kidney stone patients simply don’t drink enough water

Drink more lemon juice.
Lemon juice is a good dietary form of citrate  in the form of citric acid.Studies have shown that low urine citrate levels increase the risk of calcium stone formation.

Dont take calcium pills
Kidney stone sufferers who took calcium supplements have more stones, while those who got calcium from their diet had no problem
