Is HIGH Lymphocytes count and HIV related?
« on: April 25, 2009, 10:28:06 AM »
Hi, could somebody share about their experiences in Complete blood chemistry count.. Or is there any Hematologist in this board?

i have been monitoring my blood chemistry for the past 6-8 months already.

i have negative hiv testing for december 2007. But when i had my CBC count from August 2008-April 2009 i notice my lymphocytes count is always high. Is there something wrong wth my blood chemistry?

Consider this trailing.

Normal Reference Values:

Segmenters: 0.5-0.7
Lymphocytes:
Adult: .20-.40
children: .50-.70
Eosinophils : 0.0-0.04
Monocytes: 0.0-0.07

This is my record:
            Segmenters      Lymphocytes     Eosinophils   Monocytes

October 1:        0.39            0.53            0.04         0.04
October 30        0.38            0.55            0.04         0.03
December 12:      0.49            0.45            0.03         0.03
January 21:       0.45            0.43            0.12           -
February 19:      0.45            0.50            0.03         0.02
March 12:         0.50            0.45            0.04         0.01
April 18:         0.42            0.49            0.05         0.04

From this data, what do you think is my problem?

hi technogear,

there are lots of reasons why you have a  high lymphocyte  count. one could be because of stress or maybe you are exposed to  some viral infection...hiv could be one of the causes but if you haven't been involved or is not actively engaging to promiscuous behaviour i.e.unprotected sex i think that is irrelevant...maybe it's just a common cold.

Kulang yung mga values. Walang WBC count for reference.
Kung may WBC count tapos normal yung absolute count, puwedeng by chance lang ung mataas na value.

Also puwede rin kasi may sira yung machine na nagbibilang so kailangan icounter check ng med tech.

Usually pag mataas yung lymphocyte,
either viral infection, chronic infection, leukemia, lymphoma or normal.

For stress, mas typical ang neutrophil increase than lymphocytes.
