i went to the optometrist yesterday ... medyo hindi maganda ang result. The doctor advised me to have 2-3 days rest without using a computer... i guess this is due to over- computer usage. my eyes is getting strained all along...

This is sometimes the downside of working almost 8-12 hours in front of the computer...

i also learned from the optometrist that people who are exposed to computer work need a more special type of lens called multi-layered lens to protect us from the PC monitor's harmful effects.

as for the hands, i think ergonomic keyboards are the way to go but since i am using a laptop and really saving up big time, i don't know how in the world i am going to squeeze that in my budget....

Well i think ok lang tumagal sa monitor basta hindi siya CRT ..alam mo yung mga bulky screens na kulay puti? Those screens emit harmful ultraviolet rays kaya they advised to use computer filters... but for LCD Screens or Liquid Crystal Displays such as those seen on laptops... i think ok lang... Uso na ngayon ang mga LCDs e..alam mo ba yun?

But this could be helpful.. some people i know do the following to less strain their eyes...

- As much as possible Turn on the lights when using a computer.
- Try to rest your eyes every 2 hours. Just close your eyes for about a minute or two then tuloy ang ligaya.
- Do you believe in so called - pasmado? I've ask some eye specialists, there's no such term daw..  Ergonomic keyboards can be helpful also

Sabi sa nabasa kong article....A 10-minute break for every hour of computer use is also recommended. This allows you to stretch your back, neck, arms, legs, etc and relax the eye a bit. Note that one should use this time to look at far away objects (more than 20 feet) so as to relax the β€œreading muscles”. One must also be conscious about blinking more often. Mas maganda daw yun para mag replenish yung eyes..
